Fun things to do with your Friday night

The weekend has arrived... and what a way for it to be ruined.  I had planned on making the trek home, but ended up being stuck at work till 10:00pm working on a potential recall of some ground beef.  Now people that work late shifts are going to call me a whiner (which I'm not really disputing), but keep in mind I work for the gov't.  That means I get paid to work 8 - 4.  So staying at work till 10pm means I've put in a 14 hour day, and you as taxpayers are on the hook for the $37.50 each hour of OT that I work.  Therefore you should want me to work as little OT as possible.  Alright, so I've worked 6 hours OT.  No biggie... except that I have to go in tomorrow morning at 7 bells to continue slogging through this fricking recall.  Dammit people, feel sorry for me!  You're paying for it!

Stampede Week

I can't believe it's been a week already since I posted.  This past week has gone by so quickly.  On the weekend, Kris, Nicole and I went Stampeding.  I'm not exaggerating when I say my colon is still feeling the ill effects of too much deep fried food on a stick.  The worst part is, I volunteered to work the CFIA booth at the Stampede on Monday as well, so that was three days in a row of carnie "food".  In my defense though, Finger Eleven was playing at the grounds on Monday evening, so the volunteering wasn't in vain.  Despite the presence of thousands of drunken cowboys who likely thought Finger Eleven was a gay hillbilly porno stage show, the concert was awesome.  It's too bad Finger Eleven is quickly graduating into the ranks of radio friendly, mass market clone rock whores.  Case in point - tonight at Best Buy, I bought another PJ Harvey disc, and received a free Finger Eleven live sampler CD with Nintendo advertising plastered all over it.  vomit...
