Bubba Ho-tep
Die hard Bruce Campbell fans are going to denounce me as a heathen, but I have to say this anyways: Bubba Ho-tep is boring. It has the potential to be a real killer comedy - geriatric Elvis and black President John Kennedy team up in a retirement home to fight an Egyptian mummy that sucks people's souls out through their assholes. BRILLIANT! But somewhere along the way, they toss the comedy out the window, and it turns into 92 solidly boring minutes of "When does this movie end?" Stay away from this one. Movies and Money
Forgot to mention - go see Farenheit 9/11. It's quite entertaining. Even if you're a right wing fascist, I think you'll find some entertainment value in it. Make sure you go see it at the Eaton Center theatre downtown so that you can go to the Elephant and Castle next door and check if they found my Mastercard cause I lost it there. There's certain things money can't buy. For everything else, there's Mastercard... unless you're a moron like me. Currently listening to: Infernal Affairs Original Soundtrack Bootleg of a bootleg of a bootleg I just watched a bootlegged version of Eurotrip on DVD that my brother bought from Chinatown. I was expecting some low-fi version of the movie recorded by some dude's camera in a theatre, but was mildly surprised by the quality. This was a fully functional DVD, complete with working animorphic menus, special features, and subtitles in 6 languages (English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Thai, and Bahasa - don't ask me what country that's from). The best part to this disc, however, was actually a special feature titled Bootleg, in which the directorial/ writing team bought a bootlegged DVD from Chinatown several months before the movie was released on DVD. Turns out, that was a low-fi version recorded by a dude and his camera at a theatre. The writers decided to include portions of it on the DVD, proclaimed they were bootlegging the bootleg, and gave a hearty "Fuck you pirate!" on their interview.
