Mitsu Kobari
One of my headlights burnt out, so I was swapping the bulb today, when this Japanese guy who lives in the apt bldg next to mine comes up and just starts prattling away. Pretty cool old guy. Goes by the handle Mitsu. But he'd be cooler if he made swords. "I'm looking for some steel. Mitsu Kobari steel."

In case you're actually interested in seeing a pic of my burnt out bulb, click here.

I know Kung Fu
The Matrix Revolutions is absolutely craptacular... everything about it is drawn out way too long, exposing the audience to some brutal acting on the part of almost every cast member. Don't get me wrong, the acting in the first two films was shit too, but it was forgiveable as the first (and partially, the second) films were innovative and neat. Revolutions is like a Rambo part 3, or a Rocky V, or hell, even an Aliens Resurrection - it's one film too many. Before you've even reached halfway through, you realize you care more about WHEN it will end than HOW it will end. Everything that has a beginning has an end. In this case, the film's end couldn't come soon enough.

And how about them commercials (Sony PS2, cars, watches, cosmetics, etc) before the previews? The movie time says 4:30. The movie doesn't actually start until 5:00. Go to 4 movies, and that's 2 hours of commmercials/ previews. That's four times you're force fed 'Joe the set painter' and his whiney 'pay for movies because they're worth it' ad. Calculating at an hourly rate of a meager 8 bucks an hour, the theatre has actually robbed you of 16 bucks. The next time you decide to NOT download a movie because that's stealing and wrong, think again. So do your part for society - download a movie today!

Sketches
I'm 3/4 of the way through my four day weekend, and I had squandered it doing as few productive things as possible. But today, I went out on an art supply binge, bought myself 50 bucks in pastels, pencils, and charcoals. So naturally, I had to use them. This is one of two pieces I did.

Unfortunately, of the two, this is the one that didn't turn out. It's supposed to be a picture of Hawksley Workman. I've drawn his face too long, and too thin. And yes, I messed up his nostrils as well. Oh well... The second charcoal sketch I did is too big to scan, so if you wanna see it, you gotta come visit.
