lazy day off
It's Friday... it's my birthday... we gonna party like, it's my birthday. Okay, so it's not me b-day, but it's a day off. I'm reading Palahniuk's Choke, and there's a neat passage in it.

"...she turns on the television, some soap opera, you know, real people pretending to be fake people with made up problems being watched by real people to forget their real problems."

Makes me proud that I've been sans TV for 15 months now. (by TV, I mean a telly with remote and more channels than CBC and Global on farmer vision)...

Grade 6 Music Class
Somebody in my building is currently playing the recorder. All you fools know what I'm talking about. That plastic flute like apparatus that you blow into and it makes high pitched squealing noises. The one where everyone was forced to learn how to play HOT CROSS BUNS on... The instrument you were considered a MASTER at if you knew how to play Ode to Joy without sounding abyssmally off tune.

Just thought I'd share that thought with you. And for the Veg crew, for some reason it makes me think of the "A-Rum-sum-sum" thing we had to do...
Anyways, maybe I'll come back with a real post after the gym. Cya!

Snow in AUGUST?!!
Back in the city y'all! Trip was awesome! Drank lots of beer, swam in really cold water, and got evicted from our campsite by the cops (all backcountry in BC closed now due to EXTREME FIRE HAZARD). They go to our campsite, see the numerous empty bottles on the ground, and then tell us to leave immediately or our vehicles will be barricaded in. uh huh... good logic boys.

So anyways, we left and drove way fricking up into the north pole to camp on someone's lakefront property, which was cool too. Kinda felt like an unwanted houseguest, but whatever... we climbed a mountain, and at the top, there was snow on it. WAY COOL! We also found an abandoned mine shaft this morning, with tons of neat stuff. I'll post the pics sometime this week, and update my link to the gallery... for now:

This is Joanne and Ross relaxing after an exhausting climb to about 6500' elevation.
